The Lake of Menteith is Scotland's only lake; all the other bodies of water are known as lochs.  This is allegedly a result of a mistake by a cartographer in the distant past. Lake or loch makes no difference to the anglers who come here to fish for trout and pike, or to the photographers who come to capture the tranquil beauty of this place.
